Concierge Family Medicine

Nelson G. Usry, MD

I was born and raised near Savannah, Georgia, but today I proudly call St. Louis home. I never expected to settle in the Midwest, but life—and medicine—has a way of shaping your path. After meeting my wife in medical school, everything changed. What started as a temporary chapter became a lifelong journey, now shared with our two boys as we navigate school, sports, and life in a city I’ve come to love.

I attended Georgia Southern University for my undergraduate and earned my medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean, initially planning to return to South Georgia to practice in the community I grew up. However, during my training at Mercy Hospital and Saint Louis University Hospital I started to grow attached to the this community. After completing my residency and served as Chief Resident at Mercy Family Medicine, and for nearly 20 years, my wife and I practiced in Lake Saint Louis caring for families across all stages of life.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching with Saint Louis University, the University of Missouri, and the University of Kansas – Kansas City, and collaborating with outstanding teams at BJC, Mercy, St. Luke’s, and SSM. From outpatient care to hospital medicine to senior living and skilled nursing facilities, I’ve experienced nearly every aspect of healthcare in the St. Louis region.

As medicine has changed, so has my vision for how it should be practiced. I believe in more time with patients, easier access to care, and stronger relationships built on trust and continuity.

In 2023, my wife founded PriMed STL to bring that vision to life. In 2025, I joined her—and together, we’re delivering care the way it was meant to be.
